About the Ripper Artwork:
Arguably the most iconic skateboard graphic of all time, "The Ripper" was illustrated in 1983 by legendary Powell-Peralta artist V.C. Johnson. Originally the graphic was used as a "Bones Sold Here" dealer window sticker. Next, the artwork found it's way onto t-shirts and eventually decks. The Ripper graphic has stood the test of time and has been a staple of the Powell-Peralta line for over 30 years.

Powell-Peralta™ Re-Issue Construction
Powell-Peralta re-issue decks are close reproductions of their 1980’s counterparts, featuring the original Pro graphics and shape, top graphic logo and concave. They are manufactured in our Ventura skateboard factory, which is still directed by a few of the same craftsmen that made them originally.
Our classic decks are constructed from the lower carapace of previously happy and healthy (but now deceased) river turtles. The supple lower shells are mechanically separated and finely ground then recompressed into a durable, flat surface. You will only find this unique style of Herpetological manufacturing at Skate One.
